Jira Integration
Connect Jira Software to DailyBot to track issue activity and manage tasks using natural language commands. The integration supports issue creation, updates, deletions, comments, sprint closures, and version releases — all surfaced in your check-in reports.
Setup
Step 1: Connect Jira
- Go to DailyBot Settings → API & Integrations → Jira
- Click Connect Jira in the top-right corner
- Complete the OAuth authentication by clicking Accept
- Select your Jira workspace and the boards you want to connect
Team Setup
Natural Language Commands
DailyBot understands natural language commands for managing Jira tasks
directly from your chat platform. Use ticket numbers (e.g., TQ-4)
for best results.
Update Status
Change task statuses using natural language:
Change the status of TQ-3 to To DoSet TQ-3 to In ProgressMark TQ-5 as Done
Supported statuses: To-do, In progress, and Done.
Update Due Date
Modify task deadlines with flexible date expressions:
Push the deadline of TQ-4 to the end of the monthMove the due date of TQ-3 to tomorrowSet TQ-7 due date to March 15

Best Practices

Activity Tracking in Reports
- Open the check-in settings for the check-in you want to enhance
- Go to Sharing → Advanced Options
- Enable Activity tracking
Activity logged within 24 hours before a check-in response through the end of that day appears as an automatically added column in reports.
