Invite external people by email
Invite guests, contractors, external collaborators, or anyone who is not part of your chat workspace. The External people tab is available on every platform (Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, and Google Chat), so you can use it regardless of which integration your organization runs on.
Before you begin
- You need Organization admin or Team manager permissions.
- External members count as active seats in your organization and are billed like any other member. See How billing works for details.
Steps
- Open the Dailybot web dashboard and sign in.
- Click Settings in the sidebar, then select Members.
- Click the Invite people button in the top-right corner.
- Select the External people tab.
- Enter one or more email addresses separated by commas.
- Optionally, add them to a team so they are organized from the start.
- Click Send invitation.
What to expect after
Each invitee receives an email with a link to accept the invite and create their Dailybot account. Once they accept, you can add them to check-ins and they will receive reminders via email. External members have restricted access to organizational info compared to workspace members.
FAQ
Can external members use Dailybot in a chat platform? Yes. If they accepted the required permissions while creating their account, they can receive check-in reminders and respond via direct message in Google Chat. For other platforms, they use the web app.
Do I need a paid plan to invite external people? No, but on a paid plan external users count toward your plan seats.
